Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 2.2K Almost a year ago in February 2021, on the even of one exciting night, a lady was announced the winner of ‘World Top Model Ghana’. A subsidiary competition that promises the success of its winners to later compete in the international model competition ‘World Top Model’. Valentina (Centred), 1st Runners Up, Afiba (Left), 2nd Runners Up, Comfort Gamel (Right) That winner goes by the name Valentina Nartey, whose runners-up were models Afiba and Comfort Gamel. The winner was promised a cash prize, a new phone and a chance to compete in the World Top Model international competition. The only voting competition which seemed to have garnered a lot of money from text voting made its presence prominent on its social media platforms with its successors flaunting their model activities all over the city of Accra. However, all was not as it seems. As the 2022 competition was slowly leading to its finals, the current winner Valentina Nartey decided to drop a bombshell in late December exposing the ins and outs of the organization behind the ‘World Top Model Ghana’ competition, International Pageants Hub Limited, and its main organizer Clement Kwame Acheampong. A make-believe reality of which apparently ‘Clement Kwame Acheampong forced her’ to exhibit. Valentina, known as @varl.tina on Instagram, took to the social media platform to expose her reality in a long rant claiming she had not received her cash prize and was faulted to participate in the ‘World Top Model’ international competition by the Ghanaian franchise holder Clement. “It had to take me this period to finally speak up. The reason being I needed enough strength yo overcome the mental torture and disappointments I had to go through” She stated, in a frustrated text with grammatical errors, however, still managing to get across the point of her disgruntled soul. The rant further explains how she was (quoted) ‘Provided wrong information on document and this led to my VISA refusal’. She did not expound if this was intentional but proceeds to claim how the organizer extorts money from the contestants… “And each person can testify how he manipulates to take huge monies from their parents. And equally makes us lie to the general public he’s given us prizes per our winning of titles.” She continues “I never received my cash prize and o the phone I received too was not a brand new phone as he forced me to say. He also took money from my mother for air ticket and made us pay all the cost for the visa process this is what he does to all those that has traveled through him and later take all the credit.” Valentina who wore a mask throughout her reign proudly wore her sash and collected awards with pride and encouraged aspiring ladies to compete in the 2022 edition alongside her runners-up. World Top Model Ghana 2022 was scheduled to take place this February, currently, the pageant now goes under the name ‘Top Model Ghana’, a name formerly used by 702 Productions in the early 2000s. The organised has currently closed all accounts related to ‘World Top Model Ghana’ including pages for International Pageants Hub Limited. This follows shortly after vigorous online voting that took place amongst the 2022 contestants. Valentina Stated “This is just to inform the general public CLEMENT KWAME ACHEAMPONG is no more the national director for worldtopmodelghana . Hence anything going on in Ghana in the name of WORLD TOP MODEL is not recognized to the WORLD TOP MODEL INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION. Don’t be deceived as he is trying to convert it to another name.” There are not many model competitions in Ghana, alongside pageants, very few have managed to sustain a principled reputation amongst the public and its participants. In many cases, not many of the contestants are brave enough to speak out against the acts in public, and even when they do they are hardly acknowledged. On the other hand, most young girls perform little to no research on the competition prior to their participation. Following Valentina’s rant, there has been no public response from International Pageants Hub Limited nor its main organizer Clement Kwame Acheampong.
