A collection inspired by the juxtaposition of modern and ancient Japanese design. The campaign, focuses on fraternity, right of passage, brotherhood, battle and initiation. The fenced-in ‘cage-like’ enclosure with its razor wire and artificial fluorescent lighting adds an element of danger and a sexy rebellious feel that worked well with Port’s Japanese inspired, monochromatic winter collection. The imagery is homoerotic in aesthetic without alienating others. Think leather, velvet chenille and wax-coated cotton in shadow cobalt and plum tones.
