[sociallocker id=”98575″]As Ghana prepares for it’s new president, President Elect Nana Akufo Addo, the current president John Mahama makes his last address to the nation and he chose to do so in a smock fabric, Batakari.

 

The batakari has always seemed to be his favourite look amongst most African traditional clothes, he has worn it on many occasion and even twice when he addressed the united nations. He even got Banki Moon to wear it also.

The Ghanaian president also declared every first Friday of the month as Batakari day, although that boosted sales up a little for smock cloth producers the trends hasn’t been ongoing as strong as it was when announced. See images of his last address in the presidential palace.
