Boomplay is buzzing with excitement after announcing a groundbreaking milestone on X (formerly known as Twitter). They cheered, “KILOS MILLIONS! Huge shoutout to Iron Boy @blacksherif_ and his loyal fans for smashing a record with 500 million streams on #Boomplay!”

In response, Black Sherif couldn’t hide his elation. “This is a dream come true. I’m incredibly thankful for the support from my fans, both in Ghana and beyond. This is just the start, and I’m excited to share more music with you all,” he said.

Born Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong, Black Sherif first captivated audiences in 2021 with his hit “First Sermon.” His follow-up, “Second Sermon,” cemented his place as one of Ghana’s top talents.

With a string of successful releases and a rapid rise to fame, Black Sherif has won the 2023 Telecel Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year and currently holds the 3 Music Awards Artiste of the Year title. He also made history at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards by winning “Best International Flow,” becoming only the second African artist to snag this accolade after Sarkodie.
