Sarkodie’s latest video emulates a single of his latest album ‘No Pressure’. The song is titled “Rollies and Cigars” and was produced by Ghana’s Kayso.

So it’s no mystery the Ghanaian rap legend would be seen rocking his Rolex whilst heavily indulged in cigar fumes. But Rollies and Cigars were not the only things heavily present in Sarkodie’s presentation of his successful lifestyle as showcased in the video. One thing that was also very much acknowledged was the rapper’s attire, his customized suit.

What About The Suit?

Going off the video alone, the song should have most likely been titled ‘Rollies, Cigars & Suits’. Sarkodie has definitely made his mark when it comes to suits and smart wear, from numerous photoshoots to music videos, there is no mystery when it comes to the sophisticated expensive fashion lifestyle of the rapper.

Before we tap into the creativity behind his amazing suited-up look, let’s address an elephant in Sarkodie’s style room. There is a common myth that believes Sarkodie doesn’t celebrate or support African fashion. This is a burden that has lived with him ever since he threw shots at rapper Manifest for rocking African prints in his rap battle with the lyrical genius.

Sarkodie Underrated Support For African Fashion

In reality, Sarkodie actually supports African fashion more than all other male musicians in Ghana with the exception of Okyeame Kwame. The countless amount of ‘made in Ghana’ outfits the hit maker has rocked has obtained him more features on FashionGHANA than any other rapper.

Brommon! The Man Behind The Suit

This leads us to who is the man behind his stylish suits in the ‘Rollies and Cigars’, well he showed you himself. The designer behind his suits goes by the name of Kweku Boateng Akuoko. He is the CEO of Brommon Bespoke. A menswear fashion brand that has catered for numerous distinguished men in Accra.

Kweku Boateng Akuoko to date is of age 38, he was born and raised in Ghana. He grew up in a family of six in Mampong on the outskirt of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Kweku Boateng Akuoko commonly addressed as the name of his brand Brommon, was the only other male featured in Sarkodie’s ‘Rollies & Cigars’ video smoking cigars with him.

Here Is The Criticism

Like they say “with great powers come great responsibilities”. And our love and respect for the music mogul Sarkodie lead us to point out an uncomfortable critique separate from the issues he is facing with the anti-smoking skeptics he is dealing with.

The song would have been better called ‘Brommon & Cigars’. It would be nice if our celebrities take time to drop the western brands unless obviously, Rolex paid him for the song.
