Supermodel Anok Yai may be a dominant force on the runway, but before taking over the fashion world, she made waves as a music video vixen. In a recent chat with Harper’s Bazaar, the South Sudanese beauty reminisced about her early days appearing in music videos for some of hip-hop’s biggest names.

Yai first appeared in Lil Yachty’s “Forever Young” (2017), a dreamy visual where she played the rapper’s love interest. She then made a striking appearance in Travis Scott’s “Jackboys” project, bringing her high-fashion aura to the chaotic world of luxury cars and rebellious energy. But one of her most talked-about moments came in Offset’s “Fan” (2023), where she embodied an eerie, cinematic presence that elevated the video’s horror-inspired aesthetic.

Though she’s now one of the most sought-after models in the industry, Yai credits these experiences for giving her confidence in front of the camera. “It was fun stepping into different roles and seeing how music and visuals blend to tell a story,” she shared.
