This year’s theme is centered on addressing textile waste and promoting circularity within the industry, highlighting designers who embrace eco-friendly practices while staying true to their cultural heritage. Among the exciting showcases will be LaOculta, a womenswear brand that fuses Kenyan and Colombian craftsmanship, and Maisha By Nisria, a Nakuru-based non-profit that transforms discarded textiles into unique, upcycled fashion pieces. Kenyan designer Eva Wambutu will also return after her remarkable debut last year, while jewellery brand Apar Gadek and Igul Leather will present artisanal, environmentally conscious designs made from recycled and sustainable materials. New to the event this season is Merkeba, a streetwear label by Kyllie Muchiri, bringing a bold and modern twist to urban fashion.
