Culture, structure, and couture – the holy trinity that designer Destiny Nwadire has used to capture the fashion industry’s attention and retain a loyal customer base for her brand, DNA by Iconic Invanity.

The new collection easily strikes a healthy balance between the strength of a woman and the subtle effect of femininity. Destiny expressed her message of Escapism in typical DNA silhouettes covered in lush surface embellishments and beadings, defined lines and a bold uniform palette sometimes interrupted by the intense interplay between nudes, sunny yellows, pastels, and bold purple.

The inspiration behind the designs was as expected, a culture trip; drawing inspiration from the East coast of Africa for the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 offerings.

(The Collection Was) Inspired by escapism; the feel and freedom of the exotic coast reflect our modern desire to escape our hectic lives for a while and draw our imaginations to the backdrop of aqua watercolours, sandy beaches and plenty of sunshine.

Those form-fitting midi dresses, clear embroidered matching sets, or showstoppers such as the nude seemingly simple dress fashioned in geometric embroidery and nipped with a beaded 9-tier waist panel will feel positively magnetic to DNA’s illustrious customers. “DNA artistry is seen throughout the collection with hand embroidery and beading on classic DNA silhouettes, bringing us all African glamour at its best,” Destiny said, and we agree.
