MODELS STORM RUSSIAN DINNER SHOW IN BOLD AFRICAN FASHION KALUGA, RUSSIA – May 17, 2025 — It was a night of bold beauty and boundary-breaking fashion at the Ambassador Hall Hotel, where #Models_No_Borders took centre stage during a special Madagascar-themed gastronomic evening. The event brought colour, culture and couture to Russia’s Kaluga region—proving age, size, or height is no match for confidence and creativity. VIDEO: Ed Sheeran Tells Nigerian Superstar Yemi Alade To Her Face ‘There’s No Arguement, I Prefer Ghanaian Jollof’ Spearheaded by the ever-visionary Marina Kornilova—TV fashion expert, sociologist, and fierce advocate for women’s empowerment—the #Models_No_Borders project has become a platform for celebrating women from all walks of life. And at this show, they walked in everything from flowing African tunics to… coffee bags! Yes, you read that right. One of the night’s headline moments was a jaw-dropping collection made from upcycled coffee sacks, blending fashion, folklore and sustainability into one unforgettable runway display. The bags, sourced from hot coffee-producing nations, were transformed into high-fashion garments complete with original jute prints and signature tambour (chain) stitching. It’s called upcycling, darling—and it’s as hot as espresso right now. Behind the collection were creative duo Marina Nuyanzina and Lyudmila Popova, who dared to reimagine packaging as power dressing. With models strutting their stuff in raw, rugged textures, the message was clear: beauty has no borders—and neither does style. But that wasn’t all. The evening also saw a vibrant African-inspired collection titled “Africa”, originally created for the Afrofest Festival, by designer Irina Goncharova. Her use of linen and cotton with bold American prints brought the spirit of the continent to life. The look was completed with ceramic jewellery by Inessa Bystrova, while a show-stopping leopard print hat by milliner Olga Panteleeva stole the spotlight. The runway may have been fierce, but the desserts were sweet. Guests were treated to “Lemon Sorbet” and a cheeky “Mojito Cake with Mint Mousse”—a delicious reminder that fashion can be fabulous and fun. Marina Kornilova, who also directed the show, says the mission of #Models_No_Borders is to empower women of all ages to step into their dreams—runway and beyond. “It doesn’t matter how old you are,” she shared. “If you’ve always dreamed of walking the catwalk, now’s the time.” With powerful women, fashion-forward ideas, and a healthy dose of African flair, this was one catwalk that didn’t just make a statement—it made history.
