In these times, it is almost as if awards shows get little to no recognition if there isn’t any red carpet drama. Well look no further, the 2020 Golden Movie Awards took place on the 20th of December 2020, and Beverly Afaglo is the red carpet topic at hand.
An entertainment blog PulseGhana recently labeled her as the worst dressed celebrity at the event and she didn’t take it likely. The actress hails from the Volta Region in Ghana and is married to Eugene Kwadwo Boadu Baah with two daughters, wore a customized sheath dress made by AkorfaGH, with a crystal-embellished bodice and a nose mask to match.
Beverly trained as a Beauty Therapist at the FC Institute of Beauty Therapy, Ghana, and is a former student of Ghana Institute of Journalism where she studied journalism and public relations. Aside from acting, she operates Glamour Beauty Salon in Tema, and made her way into television through her journalistic talents. The furious actor reacted to the accusation stating.
“@pulseghana says I was the worst dressed at the Golden Movie awards ….. I don’t blame them, I blame the horrible pictures the so called official photographers of the event took of me. I’ve learnt my lesson, I’ll never pose for any 3310 cameras anymore mtcheeeewww 😡😡😡😡😡😡,” she wrote
Beverly was so offended and took their accusation on in another post stating “@pulseghana is this what the worse dress looks like?”
In most cases, celebrities will ignore such critique however, it seems Beverly was actually hurt by it to the point of extending the screenshot to her followers. It will be difficult for her to get the best dress nominations from here on.

Ghana’s leading fashion event Accra Fashion Week is scheduled for 7-11 December 2022 following their 5th-year celebration last year in 2021. Accra Fashion Week is a platform for African designers that can be compared to fashion weeks across the major capitals. It aims to fill the void which sees tremendous creativity and culture across the continent with the absence of an operating fashion infrastructure.
The epic event took place at Ghana Dubai in Accra, and saw models march down the steps from the Kwame Nkrumah Monument whilst being followed by a spotlight, before circulating the central fountains. Memories of the exciting night still give chills as guests revisit the experience on youtube.
However, rest assured that 2022 is going to be even more exciting with greater performances and an upgraded designer collection.
