Ghana Celebrity Watch Business entreprenuer and fast rising fashion star Gertrude Kunde-Kwallinjam took to start the new year by feeding over 500 hundred children in a remote village based in Tamale. The owner of fashion label SmockyWorld which launched some odd 4/5 years ago is now one of the most prominent brands in the country.
But fashion is not only the hat worn by Gertrude, she is also the manager of Fidelity bank in the northern region. Whilst most took to the festive season to celebrate at parties, Gertrude Kunde-Kwallinjam took to her brand and her employees to plan the feeding of 500 plus children, but to her surprise it was much more than that.

She took to social media to broadcast the following message “Last year, we (Smockyworld) solely donated to the Sheikina Mental Hospital and I remember afterwards, many people came asking why it wasn’t announced for them to come support. To the extent that even the day after the donation, someone “forcefully” sent me Ghs 2,000.00 and we had to go back to the hospital to make another donation…(oh yes! I have “impossicant” friends😀).
So this year, a simple post of Feeding 100 Streetkids was made and to my amazement, friends contacted me from all corners of the globe to help make it happen. A head count of partners who supported in various ways at the end totaled 44 individuals / businesses!! (Not kidding)
Together, we fed over 4,000 kids – far in excess of what was originally thought of and these were made up of Street kids and children from three orphanages within the Northern Region.
Yes! I am amazed too…and it didn’t end there, many people have contacted me and asked that I promise to add them in subsequent years 😃. We just pray for good health and life…”
