Very controversial (in style) and expressive Ivorian designer who has established himself internationally is now taking a break in New York City. If you are into African fashion and have not heard of Elie Kuame yet, then you are probably out of the francophone entanglements. Elie Kuame is mostly seen in public wearing his customized crown and dressing his models with sharp nails, participating in various shows in Africa and France.
The exhibition is presented by MVC Productions and set to take place on February 11th at the Marriott Marquis in New York. This is shortly after he showed the world of Paris what he was made of in the recent Black Fashion Week 2012 organized by Adama Paris.
This step for Elie Kuame into New York is a pretty side of recognition for African baed francophone designers. it follows not long after the Alphadi Gallery Grand Opening in Brooklyn New York. Alphadi is also an African designer from Niger and founder of FIMA.
