There has been another attack on a comedian on stage, this time it’s Dave Chappelle. The successful comedian knwon for not holding back his tongue was assaulted onstage during his set at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, people who attended the show and footage circulating on social media.
This follows no more than 6 weeks since we saw the Oscars Fiasco where Will Smith took to the stage to slap Will Smith for a joke he made about Jada Pinkette’s low haircut.
The attack took place around 10:40 p.m. as Chappelle was attempting to leave the Hollywood Bowl stage upon finishing his set, according to a statement from the LAPD.
The 23-year-old suspect, Isaiah Lee, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, the LAPD told The Hollywood Reporter.
He was carrying a replica handgun with a knife blade inside, authorities said. The suspect was tackled and stomped. He was taken away by an ambulance with a broken arm.
NBC News Los Angeles reported that the gun “can eject a knife blade” when discharged correctly. It wasn’t immediately clear if he tried to use the weapon. Police said that Chappelle was not injured in the incident.
Chris Rock who took his turn to a set performance afterward came in later to joke about the incident saying he thought it was Will Smith, finally breaking his silence on stage about his own attack six weeks ago.

It aims to fill the void which sees tremendous creativity and culture across the continent with the absence of an operating fashion infrastructure.
The epic event took place at Ghana Dubai in Accra, and saw models march down the steps from the Kwame Nkrumah Monument whilst being followed by a spotlight, before circulating the central fountains. Memories of the exciting night still give chills as guests revisit the experience on youtube.
