Although there isn’t a steady seasonal set of trends that take place in Africa, there is every now and then something that pops up and trends for a good month or two amongst the African fashion circles every now and then. And we are always here to spot it or predict it out, and by all means, we think we may just have spotted one.
Not long ago, South African social media fashionista Blue Mbombo set the net on fire when she rocked an amazing look created by South African designer Scalo! Blue Mbombo was adored rocking a beige pencil dress embellished with crystals and embroidered with floral layers.
The ultimate addition to the look was the beautiful waist cape belt worn across the dress. It was definitely a masterpiece by Scalo, however, it wasn’t the only waist cape belt the designer had in his closet. Scalo has been serving his followers on IG and runway viewers an amazing set of waist cape belts and waist cape dresses for years. See six amazing looks below.
Currently, Blue Mbombo has just sparked the internet once again with one of his runway outfits. Very much similar style-wise to the outfit that recently went viral, however this time she rocked something from his recent runway collection. A black embroidered low v neckline bodysuit, once again decorated by a beautiful and longer waist cape belt.
This is not to say Scalo is the originator of waist cape belts, they have been circulating around for years, but once again it seems he might just be the designer to spark this red carpet and elegant style trend within the African fashion circuit. In fact, another designer who cooked up a beautiful similar look with a fabulous waist cape belt is Tuberto Scholtz, see his outfit, beautifully customized for @kxng__patrick. See it below.
