I’ve always thrown side comments about when the Kenyan superstar will rock outfits from her own continent, let alone her country. However it seems that such has come to light. No it wasn’t a ball event, nor an evening night out, nor a red carpet, and it wasn’t a gown, Lupita wore various outfits by reknowned Nigerian designer Maki Oh on her ongoing ‘Homecoming Tour’ to Kenya.
I am aware the celebrity industry and lifestyle is very complex, and celebrities wear dresses upon many reasons, being paid to, PR reasons, branding purposes, and much more. But it would have been nice to have seen her were African fashion to a mainstream red carpet in her popularity heydays.
Nevertheless, I can never knock her, see her shining in Maki Oh’s stunning pieces as she returns to Kenya.

It’s about time, she needs to be promoting some native clothesline. With her platform she can help and expose good designers in Africa.
Oh she looks stunning in those pieces.
