Haitian Poala show print head wraps are just as much haitian as they are African, read below.
My name is Paola Mathe, and I am a lifestyle blogger based in NYC. I’m originally from Haiti, and I write about everything NYC related. I also love to share some of my Haitian heritage with my followers because to me where I’m from really matters and is a very important part of my story. I recently started a headwrap line called, “Fanm Djanm”. In my language, it means “Strong Woman.”
I’m starting with the headwrap because:
– In my culture, women who tie their hair are considered uneducated or poor.
– Headwraps are my wardrobe staple.
– Headwraps are not only beautiful, but they’re simple, and make every lady look regal (in my opinion).
Fanm Djanm will be more just than headwraps. The whole movement is to inspire and to empower women around the world to take chances. I hope to expand to Haiti and open some job opportunities for women who need them. I also hope to collaborate with an organization that helps or works with oppressed women around the world. Besides, I supports and am open to the idea of collaborating with other women-owned businesses. It’s all about rising together.
