Idris Elba is of Ghanaian and Sierra Leonean heritage. He has visited Ghana on numerous occasions and has spoken of some of the ways he is interested in making an impact in West Africa.

Actor, Producer, DJ, and Philanthropist Idris Elba paid a courtesy call on the President, Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Friday, February 3, 2023.

Prior to the visit Ghana, the actor had met with Tanzanian President, Samia Suluhu Hassan. Idris who has visited Ghana on numerous occasions and has spoken of some of the ways he is interested in making an impact in West Africa, discussed among other things the importance of film to the land of the birth of his mother, Ghana.

The office of the presidency took to social media to share images of the meeting.
