Jo-Issa Rae Diop, credited professionally as Issa Rae, is an American actress, writer, and producer. Rae first garnered attention for her work on the YouTube web series Awkward Black Girl. The renowned actress just tied the knot with her fiance.
When & Where
Apparently, all the celebrities were in the South of France over the weekend. Bennifer was there, celebrating J.Lo’s birthday and touching butts on a yacht. A-Rod was there as well to celebrate his own birthday on a different yacht. Also, Issa Rae was there getting married to longtime partner Louis Diame. No butt touching was documented.
However, Rae did share some photos on Instagram from their intimate wedding ceremony in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. There are a few in her custom Vera Wang wedding gown from an “impromptu photoshoot,” as Rae wrote in her caption. There are a couple of shots of her and her friends/bridesmaids. “They all coincidentally had on the same dress!” Rae wrote. “They were sooooo embarrassed.” Finally, there are a few with, as Rae put it, “Somebody’s Husband.” (Hers. He’s her husband.)
Issa Rae’s Private Relationship
Up to this point, Rae and Diame have been pretty private about their relationship. In 2019, there was speculation that the two got engaged after Rae wore what looked like an engagement ring on her Essence cover. Her Insecure co-stars Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji seemed to confirm the engagement, wishing the couple congrats, but later, Rae told The View, “I have a lot of rings on my fingers.”
Well, there’s little room to speculate after the photos she posted on Monday. Issa Rae may have a lot of rings on her fingers but I’m assuming she only has one custom-made Vera Wang wedding dress. Congrats to this extremely gorgeous couple! See images below from her instagram page.
