Maybelline New York, world’s renowned cosmetic brand, has launched in Ghana. The brand had a grand launch at the Coco Lounge in Accra with celebrities like Juliet Ibrahim, Lydia Forson, Joselyn Dumas, Sacha Okoh, Efya, Naa Ashorkor, AJ Sarpong, Ama K, Marie Humbert and many more. And lots of makeup artists, stylists, media houses, photographers and fashionista’s being present.

 

In 1915, Mabel Williams, a young woman from Chicago, was looking for a way to enhance her eyes. With an eye for ingenuity, she stirred together coal dust and Vaseline and applied the mixture to her lashes and brows. Inspired by the potential of her homespun invention, her brother Thomas Lyle Williams created Maybell Laboratories and began selling mascara through the mail.  Women all over the US were soon clamoring for Maybelline, and in the 1930s the company responded by selling to local variety stores. From then on, their range of legendary products grew.

The launch party featured a fashion show from each makeup artist, keeping guests entertained with riveting themes and striking makeup from Sparkle and Shine, Doll face Makeup,  Glam faces, Annette Akyi and Alexandrina makeup artistry. Feli Nuna and Ephya graced the stage  with amazing performances. 

Maybeline displayed “find my shade”  at the launching which is a large array of shades divided into four colour families which allows women to easily identify their desired color.

The managing Director says their mission is to offer innovative,  accessible and effortless cosmetics for every woman. And their brand empowers women all over the world to express their personal “it” factor.

Maybe she’s born with it, Maybe it’s Maybelline.
