The She Is Nairobi collection is a A collection that celebrates inspiring women changing the face of Nairobi. All the beautiful women were photographed by Mia Collis and their stories written by journalist Cynara Vetch. Kipusa aims to bring light to the fabulous women of Nairobi in a fashion light with the hashtag #SheIsNairobi via it’s fun look book below. Enjoy.

Wanjiru Gichaga is one of Kenya’s 40 female pilots out of 500. She’s under 30 and just acquired the highest piloting license anyone can acquire! Inspiring, fabulous woman all around!

#SheIsNairobi and she is our extremely talented artist. Her paintings can be viewed at the Godown Arts Center. Nadia is 20 years old, and is driven by her hearing disability to reach for the stars! We love Nadia’s spirit!

The fabulous Connie Aluoch who studied fashion in New York and Milan, she is an Image Consultant and Stylist and we love her!

Aprelle is an amazing woman. She moved from New York to Juba and then Nairobi to create a luxury accessory line that reflects her journey.

Marie is the CEO of Buni TV, the network behind XYZ Television series. She saw a business opportunity and seized it, creating a television show with a huge following in Kenya.

Mugethi is the Community Manager at iHub, Nairobi’s Tech Hub and co-working space. iHub has become a model hub in Africa for other countries. She calls herself geeky, and we say geeky is the new fabulous!

Annabel Onyango had set out to start career in Environmental Science, but Serendipity had its way and she found herself working in fashion. She is a Stylist, Television Show hostess and Cultural influencer.

This gorgeous former model, Bidanya, turned Marketing Consultant is remarkable. She is a Cancer survivor and the Brand Ambassador for the Nairobi Hospice and with Cancer foundations to raise money for Cancer patients while promote a healthier lifestyle for every individual.

Originally from Suriname, Januska has Ghanaian roots and has made Nairobi her home. She is branding expert, and entrepreneur with her company Tungsten. She has managed Accounts such as Land Rover in Kenya and continues to make big leaps in her career through her talents.

Mumbi is a 22 year old Financial Economist and a Violinist with the Nairobi Youth Orchestra. She is also a volunteer teacher with El Sistema, a trio young ladies that teaches children from underprivileged backgrounds how to play the violin and gives them training in Classical Music

Our Creative Director Anne Mpinga left her media job to pursue fashion. Having lived in various cities for her work, she settled back in Nairobi and founded Kipusa. This Collection is about fun, creativity and a celebration of the women Kipusa dresses.
