Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 368 Last month, the people of Ghana’s second capital, Kumasi alongside the students of KNUST (Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology) witnessed a fashion show of designers within the Kumasi region. Mainly students from the university showcasing their latest collections and designs. The event dubbed KNUST Fashion week 2015, was sponsored by Da Viva and also saw a number of bloggers travel from Accra to Kumasi to capture highlights and runway action. Organized by Ayo A Models, the show has helped launched a couple of faces/names who have later on gotten to participate in campaigns as well as Glitz Africa Fashion Week. Included in this is AVD, a designer label quickly growing in Ghana and one of the most impressive at Glitz Africa Fashion Week, as well as Fame Enyoname, a model with a killer walk. Platforms like these are necessary not only to give the world an insight into potential talent but to give potential talent and insight into the world. Designers and models engaging in smaller shows enlighten them on one or two aspects of being a designer as far sales, models, and branding is concerned. This gives them insight into what is trendy amongst the next generation. An advantage they may have over many established Ghanaian designers that look to other mainstream popular creations for inspiration that might not be trending where they are based. The vision can see seen in their styles, all that is left is the craftsmanship and finishing of the clothes.
