Who Is Moda Bertha?

Moda Bertha is an amazing fashion brand that works with rich eccentric colors and fabrics. The Founder goes by the name Bertha Amissah, a Ghanaian-based fashion designer and stylist, born in Italy exploring her admiration for fashion here in Accra.

Although her work ranges from swimwear to casual African print outfits and more, Her stunning bridal gowns have managed to go viral on many platforms whilst producing gowns for those at home in Accra and abroad. So there is absolutely no surprise why she was selected to cook up a beautiful gown for Kojo Jones’s wife Raychel.

Who Is Kojo Jones?

Emmanuel Kojo Jones Mensah is a young millionaire and the stepson of the late David Lamptey, a wealthy Ghanaian politician, businessman, and philanthropist who served in Parliament for the Korle Klottey constituency on the National Democratic Congress ticket (NDC).

Kojo Jones was born on July 3, 1989 and was one of eight children who inherited his wealth in 2012, after the politician who owned radio XYZ and was known in Osu for sharing money died.

Kojo Jones since then has established himself as a business magnate with amazing success, with over a decade of experience in construction, design, and global real estate development. He has also carried out much PR pushing himself as a successful businessman.

Forming Raychel’s Dress

Moda Bertha understood the assignment and the hefty task on her to make an outstanding gown knowing very well eyes will be tuned into the traditional wedding ceremony. Without a shadow of a doubt, she didn’t fail to cook up a magnificent bodycon kente outfit perfectly befitting to Raychel.

The Ghanaian fashion brand took to her instagram to share the inspiration behind the outfit. In a details post she stated…

In designing this outfit the brides body was the major thing I considered before pattern arrangement. I wanted a design that wouldn’t take too much attention from her beautiful body(curves) it just had to be something ELEGANT, DECENT AND WELL CONTOURED.
Gown was fully beaded with crystals to also highlight the beautiful kente patterns in the design and give the gorgeous gown all the sparkle it deserves.

Only God knows how many trials I did with this kente to be able to achieve the final look. Working with Ombré kente needs critical thinking 💭(colors must always blend in) and it was definitely a tough one at a point. I wanted to play with the patterns, turn the colors upside down but again it had to look RIGHT!
Hope we nailed it? 😇

The Jones’s Were Peacocked!

According to the designer Working for Kojo Jones, she had to consider the status of the client what they stand for, and what they want, which is Royalty. She believes the royalty associated with THE PEACOCK was just perfect for the theme.

The peacock symbolizes Rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honor, and integrity with hints of beauty, love, and passion. Bertha Amissah felt every single color in the peacock also has a very significant meaning.

The results were absolutely gorgeous. See it all below.
