A few stars such as Efya (singer) and Julliet Ibrahim and a couple more have always extended support for home made (Ghanaian) fashion, however there is a major shift and the tables are turning. What was once a few is turning into many. In the above picture is a snap shot celebrity and actor Majid Michel picking up a pair of Horseman Shoes, and this is no PR stunt.

Horseman shoes is undeniably one of the best quality in mens wear shoes in the city of Accra, and they recently launched their women’s line. Whats better than wearing a real of these on your feet? Check them out sometime.

In December 2012, FashionGHANA.com interviewed some of the greatest rappers of Ghana, EL, D Black, Edem and others. regarding their support for African fashion. Shortly after that, they were present in Kaftans at their next show, Chris Brown’s Ghana concert. We got a little gossip from one of the artists on the stage that the act was inspired by the interview.

Some artists and celebrities that feel their public appearance can not be limited to print are beginning to find their love with Ghanaian fashion as more designers begins to vary outside the print world. Let’s also not forget the amazing Sark collection by hit music maker Sarkodie.

Celebrities hopping onboard with African fashion is a significant change. In most red carpet cases, most celebs are paid to wear certain label for pr matter. With a growing trend of Ghanaian celebs and artists willingly supporting, there might possibly be a greater reciprocal effect for greater numbers of the day to day Ghanaian and fans of Ghanaian entertainers to look further into Ghanaian fashion and designs.
