Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail 7.3K In a tragic turn of events, a mom of 3 by the name of Kayla who only confided in covering her natural hair has found herself in a severe situation. Kayla decided to share her horrific experience on TikTok and detailed how she ended up with an illness called molluscum. Kayla, like many other insecure black women, don’t feels comfortable wearing their natural hair out of embarrassment for not being able to assimilate into the norm, she like others buy wigs to fit in and look like what is absolutely unnatural to them, in many cases embarrassing. Kayla who has continued to post her youthful self in all sorts of styles is now reconsidering doing so. Her recent experience after buying a wig on Amazon may be an eye-opener to her, after finding herself hospitalized with Molluscum for wearing a $133 wig. https://www.fashionghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/weave-molluscum-1.mp4 The humiliating culture of African women around the world wearing weaves is a shame in public most of them don’t actually acknowledge. Trend of all sorts of hairs, without real understanding of whose hair sits on their heads. Some of these expensive hairs come from some of the most unhygienic towns and cities such as those in India. https://www.fashionghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/weave-molluscum.mp4 In today’s modern world, the desperation to wear weaves in this weave epidemic is so bad, some women even take it as a normal habit to wear the weaves with the tracks exposed. Hopefully, Kayla may learn to make good of her own beauty and natural hair, or like others, will continue to find another outlet. She is currently documenting her growth and healing in her natural state and according to the video below, keeping it that way. We wish her a speedy recovery. https://www.fashionghana.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/c5d261d97b472c6a80fea4619ad96393.mp4 It’s very important we all play our part to discourage the ongoing mental illness that African women are plagued with, believing that they can’t look wholesome unless they were hair that doesn’t grow upwards. The next illness one catches may be more fatal. In fact, how many illnesses could have been already executed from wearing weaves but didn’t get the chance to be videod or go viral on tiktok.
