Boatengs amazing works got African American designer Ruth Cater featuring him on the most anticipated film BLACK PANTHER. Which from the film we a man in a large ornated lip plate wearing a very sharp teal suit which was made by OZWALD BOATENG.

Ruth and her team aslo had to draw an inspiration for costuming the film from traditional and contemporary AFRICAN FASHION, which she used the kente pattern made by the Akan people of Ghana to design an off shoulder long straight dress for(NAKIA) a character in the movie.

She transformed the colourful KENTE fabric into BLACK by using a 3D printer to make the graphic lines raised and more textured. Then she painted the dress in an electric chartreuse hue to accentuate a raised outine, creating an ombre as the green fades to black down the lenght of the dress.
