Unfortunately, according to the board at Glitz Africa Style Awards 2015, FashionGHANA.com was not illegible to make it to the top 3 top fashion nominated blogs.
Despite our website being the most viewed fashion blog/website in Africa, and the most popular blog documenting African fashion around the world. Reaching 100 times and more than the other nominees, this surpassed the acknowledgement board.
Despite that FashionGHANA.com has published about 3-5 articles a day consistently for 3 years, with only 4 articles a week extracted from other sites, which means 10 times original article more than the other nominees, some of which don’t post in the space of a month at times, this also surpassed the Glitz Africa board.
Despite the fact that Glitz Africa’s activities have been most documented on FashionGHANA, from event runway videos, magazine launches, reviews and more, and that the other nominees barely have any content regarding their activities, this also surpassed the board.
It is puzzling what basis the board left out both FashionManiaGH.com (another very active blog) and FashionGHANA out the nominees, but it express a hint of ingenuity by the decision board and the injecting of personal choices and preferences.
In cases like this, one is reluctant to write about the misfortune as it seems self centered, but then again, we have always called out injustice on our site, from the various fraudulent pageants activities to designer imitations. This was a major let down to us in the name of Fashion Awards and it shows that Ghana has a long way to go.
Surely Afua Ryda Stands as one of the best stylists in Ghana, but the best blogger is absurd for website that has no more than 10 posts. We are shocked by Anas’s expose on the Ghanaian judges corruption but return to our homes and execute the same practices on a similar ways.
This is far from jealousy, it’s just a strong five finger slap in the face to an organization that has been instrumental in pushing Glitz Africa activities as well as various events and personalities in Ghanaian fashion beyond the borders of Ghana, to the extent foreign designers query about the events via FashionGHANA.com.
Never the less, We do what we do strictly for our viewers with the aim to bring all Fashion activities in Africa to our visitors, and that will continue despite such. So with no further delay, here is our review below and do watch out for our next post on the red carpet fun.
