When growing up, mobile phones didn’t have cameras, Oh sorry, let’s rephrase that. When growing up, there were no mobile phones. Small handheld cameras were not made at that time, and if they were, they weren’t here in Ghana.
Getting a picture taking was no selfie moment, it was usually a family moment where one would put on the best dress and pay a photographer to take a picture, usually after church service. Mainly something that the well off people of the time had access to regularly and others will just wait for the few family moments.
Whether these pictures are a reflection of general Ghana’s seventies style, or the more sophisticated that had the picture opportunities, one can never tell. Nevertheless, it is a good insight of how style has altered from then to now. Enjoy the images below.[/tps_header]
