This is what i call a step WAY ahead. Launched in 1996, SA Fashion Week is South Africa’s longest standing industry event that provides local designers or brands a platform to launch their latest collections to buyers and the media in runway shows. Two seasonal events are held annually in Johannesburg to introduce the Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter Collections of a given year. SA Fashion Week’s vision is to contribute to the development of an economically robust designer industry and to encourage the South African consumer’s patronage of local designer. The programme for the Autumn/Winter Collections 2014 features some of the country’s top designers, tickets are already on sale: South African Fashion Week More Articles You Would Love 8 Looks That Proves The Beautiful Miss Cote d’Ivoire 2020 Is A Red Carpet Queen Znzorzi Adby @ Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2013 – Day 3 Through its defined focus on the The Business of Fashion, SA Fashion Week has steadily contributed towards a strong design-led fashion industry by providing a multi-faceted marketing platform for fashion designers based on established, international & best practice. The fashion week facilitates the transfer of industry experience and skills, stimulating collaboration between designers and traditional craft communities. Throughout the years, South African Fashion Week has enabled a lot of partnerships that allow micro fashion design businesses to leverage the export infrastructure of larger textile clothing manufacturers. Because of its active facilitation, this has led to an improvement of local design output that matches international standards, a result of the mentorship programs for designers. Through the new talent competitions, SAFW has developed new design talents along the years and has provided designers access to the consumer middle market through its annual Pop Up Shop. You gotta love the way this fashion week is organised. Looking forward to the collections, if i were you i would start taking notes as you would not want to be dressing like the Jackson 5 in 2014. 2014designersfashionSouth Africasouth africa fashion weeksouth african Share FacebookTwitterPinterestLinkedinWhatsappTelegramEmail Abigail Oluwakemi I'm a fashion stylist turned blogger, I hope you love my work.
