Samira Bawumia is a Ghanaian politician and the Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana. She is married to the Vice President of Ghana, Mahamudu Bawumia. Ever since becoming the 2nd lady of Ghana, she has stood out for her fashionable antics and even gone as far as winning awards for this at various events.
Samira Known For Her Fashion Aesthetic
Her backlog of fashion has seen her rock designs by known Ghanaian brands as well as that of her own customized designs by seamstresses close to her. due to her Islamic background and political status, it is not questionable that the style of clothes found on her will always reflect a modest style of clothing.
The last time we covered her look was when she rocked a Haute look to Ghana’s 61st independence day parade.
She rocked a peplum dress with an asymmetric collar dress that sent her viral.
Samira Stuns At The State of the Nation Address
Despite her being out of the fashion limelight for a while, she has done it again today. The 2nd lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia showed up at the State of the Nation Address in a round neck, laced sleeve, peplum kente gown with a body cross strap detail.
She wore the outfit with a nose mask and a matching headscarf. The outfit flourished with green and purple colours making her stand out in comparison to all others that wore monochrome or plain coloured outfits.

Ghana’s leading fashion event Accra Fashion Week is scheduled for 7-11 December 2022 following their 5th-year celebration last year in 2021. Accra Fashion Week is a platform for African designers that can be compared to fashion weeks across the major capitals. It aims to fill the void which sees tremendous creativity and culture across the continent with the absence of an operating fashion infrastructure.
The epic event took place at Ghana Dubai in Accra, and saw models march down the steps from the Kwame Nkrumah Monument whilst being followed by a spotlight, before circulating the central fountains. Memories of the exciting night still give chills as guests revisit the experience on youtube.
However, rest assured that 2022 is going to be even more exciting with greater performances and an upgraded designer collection. FashionGHANA.com is sure to bring you the exclusives we did on www.FashionGHANA.com/TV. All last year’s shows are available to watch on youtube. Designer’s registration is ongoing on the AccraFashionWeek.org website.
