Togo is a very small country to the right of Ghana with a very stern government. So growth is very limited. Most known Togolese designers have worked to established their brand by engaging in fashion activities outside of the country itself.
Initially the Elmina Fashion Show once topped fashion events in the country until the passing away of the organizer, since then not much has been heard from the planning of the event. However, all is not lost, because FIMO228 and the emergence of Lome Fashion Week has continued to keep fashion activities alive in Togo.
FIMO228 is just around the corner for 2017. One thing that the Togolese are aware of with the organizer, Jack. Is that for the past 3 years he has continued to push the boundaries and worked beyond his means. Creating a phnomenom presentation of fashion within the limitations of the small country Togo.
This year would be just the same, with various international media, models and designers set to participate, critics are insinuating if pulled off well, the 4th edition of FIMO228 could possibly be one of Togo’s biggest fashion events.
