As the artist and brand Sarkodie grows, Michael Owusu Addo Aka Sarkodie now takes on a more sophisticated look. No longer the young man who was pushing to make a name, He has now established himself as a God father of Ghanaian rap, paving the way for more artists into the mainstream world.
With that said, we should expect to see more class, more sophistication, more elegance and more powerful styling from the man setting himself apart from the many rappers out here in Ghana. As seen in recent videos such as the recent ‘Hand To Mouth’.
Poqua Poqu who recently release the Asedu Collection has one of the dresses ‘Titi Dress’ featured in the newly released track by Sarkodie ‘Bra’. The video which was styled by Rachel Events, sees a bride preparing for her groom in her most blissful state through a monochrome lense. All whilst unwrapping, admiring, and finally wearing her Aseda dress shown at the very end of the video seen above/below and the dress further down. Beautiful!!
Sometime last year we published an article entitled See Why African Musicians Are Disappointing African Fashion Designers And Labels!. The article focused on how our African musicians that are paving the way for the image of Africa with amazing tantalizing music are doing nothing but extending and promotion foreign designers and nothing for our industry. The article caught fire on facebook but we are yet to witness it’s real impact on our music industry. We still have more work to do, that could simply be a proposition from the stylists, we are still looking forward to hearing the brand names in the actual songs.
