Christie Brown was founded in March 2008 with the launch of the brand’s first runway show in Accra, Ghana. Founder, Aisha Obuobi who named her fashion label after grandmother Christie Brown. The label is known for producing women’s apparel and accessories manufacturer and retailer, with pieces ranging from bespoke gowns to practical yet statement ready-to-wear pieces and innovative accessories primarily inspired by African culture and art.
The brand took to the internet to present their 2nd virtual show since the pandemic of the coronavirus lockdown. Ever since COVID-19 hit the world, life in many areas has taken a new turn, especially within the fashion world. Initially, we saw the shutdowns of fashion weeks in the West, which later developed into virtual shows. Where designers will give you the same feeling you would get from a fashion show Virtually, in other words, by watching a similar thing via the internet.
Some designers even took advantage of social distancing to levels where their shows were computerized with no models used. Even lately Accra Fashion Week is also set to go Virtual as seen below.
Well it seems the label Christie Brown decided to also take that turn earlier this year, with a virtual premier of her collection.
Well, the designer has made another Virtual Show. Attempting to appeal to the foreign market, as they is no fall season in Africa, the designer recently premiered her ‘CB FALL WINTER 2020 SHOW’ earlier today, with various clothes filled with her trademark style pieces amongst various corset dresses, using auburn African print colours.
Watch it all below.
