Strut It Afrika Fashion Week is a highly prestigious and very popular fashion week that takes place in Africa every year. Its aim is to provide a platform that aims at highlighting our rich culture through celebrating African Heritage by bringing together FASHION, ART & DANCE.

The goal as stated by it’s organisers is to create a Regional Fashion Week, an event that incorporates the region by promoting talent and bringing together the vast different cultures in one arena.

Strut It Afrika includes the participation of various designers from across the African continent as well as featuring models from various countries. See the 5 minute trailer below.

This year, the event is set to have 7 International Designers from South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and Ethiopia, 12 Kenya based designers. 7 International Models who were hand picked by the S.I.A team during the regional casting calls earlier this year, from Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia and Zambia. And 28 Kenya based S.I.A Models.

The organisers recently concluded a successful Silver Preview Cocktail party at the IMAX lounge in CBD, Nairobi. The Event schedule for the fashion Week goes as follows….
1st October – VIP Preview Cocktail/Media Launch at Westhouse Hotel in Westlands
3rd October – Art Exhibition at Shifteye Gallery at The Priory in Hurlingham
5th October – Fashion Show at Safari Park Hotel on Thika Road
