Everything came together beautifully. The best fashion designers from Cote d’Ivoire and abroad, a magical setting with a compact and playful audience. These are all ingredients that have convinced fans and other participants to recognize that particularly Abidjan’s Afrik Fashion Show is now the hub of fashion in francophone Africa.
The 8th edition of the event took place on Saturday in the gardens of the Golf Hotel. On this occasion, Maurice Bandaman stated that for him, the event was a tourist product that shows the beauty of the country. And the proof will be made in 2014: “In 2014, fashion would be made one of the important aspects of the market and African Performing Arts.”
Isabelle Anoh, Director of Avant-garde production, the organizing body of Afrik fashion Show said its desire to make this appointment the unique event to burnish the image of the ivory Coast and fashion. “We want to make Côte d’Ivoire a country of ruffles, rhinestones and sequins.”
Showcasing at the event were African fashion icons such as Pathé O, Gilles Toure, Saint Joe, Anderson D, Angybell, Patrick Asso, Michelle Yakice of Côte d’ Ivoire, Maïmour (Mali), Emma Style (Senegal) ; Bazemsé (Burkina Faso), Bee Arthur (Ghana), to name a few. All accompanied by an impressive audience who were very astonished by the passage of each collection. We congratulate Isabelle Anoh and her team has succeeded.
