Volta Region Set For A Sensational Week! Discover Designers & More Scheduled For Volta Fashion Week 2022

Volta Fashion Week 2022 returns to Ghana’s Volta hemisphere with an impeccable lineup of creatives. The event is scheduled from the 4-6th of February 2022 at the Trinity Spa, Sogakope, Ghana.

The 3-year-old event began in 2019 and seems to be just about finding its feet after a long dispute over other claimed owners of the Volta Fashion Week name. The 2022 edition composes of a designer line up with Volterien talents blended with known fashion names from the city of Africa as well as some foreign guests.

Over the 3 days, it is reported spectators will be treated to two runway shows, one Awards Night, and one day of Exhibition. The campaign video features Priscilla Abah and other participating models.

Angolophone Meets Francophone

The country’s border, history, and heritage of the Volta region and its culture is one that sits very alongside the Togolese nation establishing a fruitful corroboration with Togolese creatives. Hence the theme for the show ‘Anglophone Meets Francophone’.

A few participating designers to note are Bushai Weave (Ghana), Fenz Couture (Ghana), Afriken By Nana (Ghana) who scooped designer of the decade at the FashionGHANA Honors & Awards 2021, Nipo Skin (Ghana), Nicoline Gh (Ghana), Lesley Fashion (Benin) and Mesme Creation (Togo). There will also be a scheduled performance by Iona Reine, with hosting by Monte Oz and Akorfa Daniella.

Volta Fashion Rising

Volta Region has become one of a few regions outside of Accra to prosper with their fashion scene, alongside Kumasi and the Northern region. Last year ‘Strongman events’ organized the very successful ‘Runway Nova Africa’. An initiative and sub-event of Volta Fashion Awards. The night of fashion also saw a host of participating designers and models from both Accra and outside Africa to the region. Watch the campaign video below.
