Creative and modern, but also determined to create a label “Made in Africa” that would employ women here in Cote d’Ivoire. Maléombho Loza is a young designer talent and boundless imagination. Labeled “Emerging Designer of the Year” during Fashion Week in Nigeria organized by Arise Magazine in 2012. Loza Maleombho aims to take on even greater challenges with her eponymous label which she describes as a clever eclectic mix of cultures. It is heavily African materials including Kita, which gives it a new essence.
At the age of 12-13 years, she was already drawing dresses for her aunts and mother. So it’s no surprise, after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in 2000 she began to perform internships with top designers in New York, as Oscar De La Renta. Finding financing was not easy, but determination and teamwork were tools that allowed her to overcome these difficulties. She is courageous, ambitious and we especially are proud of her … Maleombho Loza, a talent to watch.
