What Is Your personal Style? Developing Your Style


Finding your personal style can be more of  a challenge and a struggle. Since your style is a reflection of you, it is important to know whats you really like, looks good on you and your lifestyle.

The impact of personal style goes far beyond making a good first impression; great style is also about approaching each day with confidence, and the ability to feel legitimately beautiful in what we are wearing.

The first step to take when you want to develop your personal style is to “know who you are”

  1. How do you like to dress? Are you wild or more conservative? Do you prefer business formal or casual comfort? Is your current wardrobe classically elegant or fashion forward? Consider the persona you want to present to the world. Once you connect with your core fashion persona, your style will improve and you’ll look fabulous. This will radiate through the way you dress. You’ll feel good and and attract the same admiration clothes.

2. Create your own style quiz

A style quiz serves as a good starting point when you feel lost in your style. Having this awareness of how you’re currently projecting your image can guide you to improved style choices.

3. Seek inspiration

Write down the names of your favorite style icons and do a bit of research via Pinterest, Google, or Instagram to gather inspiration from their looks. Do not copy-cut because it might make you waste money on going to get the same pieces but re-create the looks with what is in your closet.

4.Plan and Shop Smarter

When you settle on the kind of person you are, and the look you want to achieve then you have start to thinking about which design elements and accessories can help you accomplish those goals. Experiment with the latest fashion trends the smart way, hunt for trendy deals at discount places or revisit your inspiration board. Likely there are certain items themes, and specific items you’ll need to re-create the looks you admire.

5. Clean out your closet

Get to know the contents of your closet. Looking through your wardrobe will help you identify your current style -what you like about it and what you wish you could change. Toss what you haven’t worn in the last year so you can start fresh. Then you can begin to rebuild and refine your wardrobe with a style that truly reflects where you are in your life and career.

6. Take a style lesson

Its time to brush up your fashion illiteracy. Ask for help from your fashionable friends, follow a fashion website or blog and if you can afford the help of a stylist, Don’t be afraid to enlist the help of a professional.

7. Stock up on basics, essentials and accessories

Now that you have an idea about your personal style, start with a few basic pieces. You can incorporate these classics into a variety of looks. Accessories are, without a doubt, the easiest way to pull any look together regardless of the vibe you want to achieve. You can update jeans and a white t-shirt with a bold necklace or pair layered, delicate jewelry with a dress for a more feminine feel

The last lesson to learn when developing your personal style is to be true to yourself because one else would style it the same exact way as YOU would.
