Why Female Fashion Models Don’t Support #EqualPayDay In The West

Today is Equal Pay Day in America, an annual day to highlight the pay gap between men and women. According to the Census Bureau’s data on wages, men (specifically in Europe and America) in full-time jobs earned a median of $50,033 in 2013, while women earned $39,157. That equates to a woman earning 78 cents for every $1 earned by a man, and means that a woman would have to work from January 1, 2014 to April 14, 2015 to match what a man earned in just 2014. The day calls for government intervention in some of these areas socially and politically.

Unfortunately this is not the reality in the modeling industry, or any industry where beauty is concerned in all its entirety and various factors, down to the world of prostitution, pole dancing and pornography. In all these cases women are much high earners than their male counterparts by extraordinary amounts. At this stage is where you find out that women most likely will reject equal pay day.

Female fashion models earn three times as much as their male peers. This is an obvious discrimination against male fashion models in an industry where all and sundry compete in the same arena. They all do “equal work,” don’t they? Perhaps, and this is the problem with advocating social engineering in the name of fairness.

However, I doubt you will see any catwalk legged female models marching down the streets with the others making a stand against unfair payments. This is one field where #EqualPayDay will not budge the girls. lol

Women always want equality except for when it comes to them getting lower pay and pushing, beating and slapping men.
