When Nigerian designer Ituen Basi debuted her Spring/Summer 2015 collection last year at the GTBank Lagos Fashion & Design Week (click here if you missed it), we loved it.
We loved the quirkiness and the unique prints she used for most of her pieces.
Italian fashion house Moschino has released its pre-Fall 2015 collection by Jeremy Scott and there are a number of similarities in the two collections – particularly the use of the yellow rule print.
The collection had blown-up rulers or guides with dashed lines to give a how-to element to the 60s inspired shapes collection.
We definitely love both collections!

In conclusion, we would like to say this is particularly one reason why we felt the need to create fashionghana.com and have a website that documents African fashion around the world. There have been on many occasions where designers in foreign countries have spoke about their inspirations from Africa. Some might not even say but the talent outright shows it. One can only imagine the countless amount of work that could have been copied from African fashion designers who never had a platform to expose their talents. This is just distasteful.
