One of Zimbabwe’s biggest fashion platforms, The Intwasa Fashion Show, calls for fashion designers from across the country and outside countries, to submit their applications to be considered for this year’s showcase. The Intwasa Fashion Show is set for Saturday, 1st of October 2016, with the venue haven’t been announced yet.

Last year, the Fashion show was held at the AMTEC Garage in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and it attracted a numerous number of fashion lovers who attended the lavish event dressed to kill. Top Zimbabwean Designers such as Thembani Mubochwa, Ara Kani & Nkanyeziyethu Malunga, showcased their Spring Summer 2016 ranges in 2015. The event had 3 South African Designers who showcased and represented the rainbow nation.

This year, the fashion show promises to be on a higher level of quality, production and initiation. “We are looking forward to further develop the Zimbabwean Fashion Industry into something that’s readily available and consumers can buy into. A few invited designers will be gracing the event with their international acclaimed collections. We will all have to wait and see who is going to showcase alongside them, after everyone has submitted their applications.”

With International experience on the business of fashion and producing shows, Gilmore Tee, will be producing this year’s edition of the Intwasa Fashion Show. In the past years, young designers have benefitted from internship programmes through being a part of the Intwasa Fashion Show. Some have also travelled outside the country to showcase on platforms such as Ekurhuleni Fashion Festival, KOAS in Cape Town and Durban Fashion Fair.

Designers are urged to submit their material for consideration before the 30th of April 2016.
