Popular Ghanaian gospel singer and wife of pastor, Gifty Osei is making headlines after creating a stir on social media with her dress that Ghanaian media has been ridiculed by Ghanaian media, bing described as a mosquito net,

Gifty Osei has revealed the cost of there dress at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. The gospel singer said in an interview on Adom TV that she got the dress from Dubai at 2,000 US dollars.

 

“The dress I wore for the VGMA cost me $2,000 and I got it from Dubai, In fact over 100 people have ordered for the dress already since it made its debut.”

Everyone is out crying about the dress not looking so great, to be honest, I think that is a judgmental part of society, because I am sure if any slim figured lady wore it, we would all be complimenting the dress as it is a fairly beautiful dress.

However that is not my concern at this moment. At this point we need to ask, how generous can this lady and her preacher husband be to spend $2000 just on a dress? We work with models and designers who go to church every week, some twice a week. Maybe it’s just me, but there is something unethical about someone so indulged in religion spending $2000 on a dress.

The real joke is, buying it from Dubai is her bragging point. That’s despicable, when are we going to learn to brag about what we buy from our own designers and tailors in Ghana instead of Dubai? What is it about these so called celebrities embarrassing themselves daily in the fashion world by trying hard to do this the foreign way. I mean if you do so and get it right, thats not an issue, but you aren’t.

Advise, next time you need a VGMA’s dress, go to SheByBena or Ghanaian based label Totally Ethnik and stop embarrassing yourself with Dubai products.
