Women Gush Over Idris Elba’s Appearance At Ghana’s Akwasidae Festival; Read Comments

On Sunday 6th February, Movie star, Idris Elba, joined one of the revered traditions of Ghana’s Ashanti Kingdom, called the “Akwasidae Festival”.

The Akwasidae Festival is celebrated by the Ashanti people and chiefs in Ashanti as well as the Ashanti Diaspora. The festival is celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks.

Idris was at the Manhyia Palace to witness culture at its best and experience the splendor of Akwasidae in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

Idris dressed up according to the criteria required for the celebration alongside hundreds of people who gathered at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to pay homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu, as part of activities to mark the first Akwasidae of this year.

It was marked with drumming and dancing amidst the exchange of greetings, presentation of drinks and other pleasantries.

Despite Idris’s marital status to Sabrina, this didn’t stop the overflow of comments and admiration of ladies gushing over the ‘Beast of No Nations’ actor in cloth worn traditionally.
