Zimbabwe Fashion Week 2016 Set To Showcase Fall/Winter Collections

Award winning brands David Alford and 9Lives join rising bespoke designers SHOKO Shoes to launch their winter/ Fall collections this Sunday at The Glass House, Maestro Restro Lounge and Bar, Harare.

 

Sponsored by Zimbabwe Fashion Week, Director Marshall Mutsamwira is confident there will be a great turn out and support for the trio: “We are really excited about the launch of ZFW’s Fall/Winter collections and we foresee it being a staple event for fashion lovers around the country. The three designers showcasing this year are working flat out to give a superb show on Sunday.”

David Alford, a Contemporary Fashion house based in Harare is renowned for its meticulously crafted and signature pieces which won ZFW Designer of the Year 2015. The theme for his collection is called Fallen Angels. This is about a girl who is an outcast in society who wants to regain control of her situation and reintegrate herself. The inspiration for the collection is gothic lace, trench coats and fur dresses which we are certain will be memorable. ZFW Emerging designer of the year 2015 Crystelle Khan founded 9Lives and is a former student of LISOF, which is one of the leading design school in South Africa. Her collection has been designed for the fashionista who wants comfortable and trendy fashion must haves this year. Shoko Bespoke Accessories are hand made in Zimbabwe from genuine Italian leather by Priscilla Chigariro-Gessen. Guests can look forward to their comfortable, ready to wear boots, gloves, and scarves all handmade and available after the showcase.

Ranked as the 4th highest fashion week in Africa, Zimbabwe Fashion Week continues to strive to improve visibility, collaboration, sustainability and creativity as the country’s premier fashion showcase.
