Marie: One of the biggest highlights of my modeling career was being part of the International Festival of African Fashion (FIMA) & FIMO TOGO. FashionGHANA: What is the biggest challenge you face in the modeling industry in Cote d’Ivoire? Marie: The lack of fair financial evaluation for models is one of the biggest challenges in the modeling industry in Cote d’Ivoire. It’s essential for the fashion industry to recognize and appreciate the value that models bring. FashionGHANA: Which African fashion shows do you aspire to participate in the future? Marie: In the future, I aspire to participate in prestigious shows like Paris Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, Lagos Fashion Week, Arise Fashion Week in Africa, and Accra Fashion Week. FashionGHANA: Is it possible to have a successful full-time modeling career in Africa alone? Marie: While I believe it’s challenging to rely solely on modeling in Africa, I recognize that the industry is still growing, and I complement it with other interests. Ideally, I wish I could focus solely on modeling. FashionGHANA: How do you maintain your figure? Do you exercise or go to the gym? Marie: I keep my figure in shape through regular running and maintaining a balanced diet. FashionGHANA: How do you handle rejection at castings? Marie: Experiencing rejection at castings taught me a valuable lesson. I understand that it’s part of the industry and it motivates me to work harder and improve myself. FashionGHANA: Your unique look, with curves and blonde hair, is eye-catching. How has it helped you in your modeling career? Marie: Having a unique look with curves and blonde hair sets me apart and attracts attention during castings, which has been beneficial for my modeling career. FashionGHANA: What do you enjoy the most about being a model? Marie: The self-confidence gained through modeling is what I cherish the most about this profession. It has transformed me and provided opportunities to meet wonderful people during my travels. FashionGHANA: What advice would you give to young girls aspiring to become models? Marie: To all the young girls aspiring to become models, I encourage you to follow your passion. Join agencies, and don’t be afraid of rejection.
