Andrea Owusu is also known as Efia Odo was a U.S based assistant nurse who relocated to Ghana. She was born on the 18th of July 1993 and hails from Juaben in the Ashanti region of Ghana. She is currently pursuing her passion in acting. She has played a number of roles in Ghanaian movies such as ‘heels and sneakers’. Efia Odo was also a radio host on Okay fm and T.V presenter on Kwese T.V.

She is also one of the strongest advocates for the current #FixTheCountry movement that is challenging politicians to stop exploiting Ghana and selling the country of to foreign nations.

The massive movement has grown so quickly and has seen 1000s of people voice their demands for the sitting president Nana Akufo-Addo to stop the slick talk and fix the country.

The movement also received some backlash from the NPP party of Nana Akufo-Addo telling Ghanaians they should fix themselves instead. A mindless reply that was embraced by a number of citizens challenging the citizens to fix themselves in order to resolve social problems.

Efia Odo is one of many celebrities, including Yvonne Nelson, DKB, and others who have taken the celebrity voices and applied it to the movement, and their bravery is yielding results.

Despite America and Europe allowing protests to proceed during strict COVID lock downs, the Ghanaian president Nana Akufo-Addo took the opportunity to use COVID as an excuse to shut down the organized protest for the growing #FixTheCountryMovement, even though there are very limited COVID restrictions in Ghana with markets packed like Sardine.

Despite the governments dictatorship approach to the protest, the celebrities and many others have taken their protest to social media to push for a better Ghana. Specifically in the areas of schools, sanitation, roads, and more.

Below is Efia Odo holding a sign board across a dirty street with the #FixTheCountry hashtag plastered over it and a caption stating “🚨🚨🚨🚨READ THE CAPTION🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨A cleaner environment in Ghana is what we deserve. Better sanitation system would make Ghana look as good and clean as ever. We can hire prisoners to even clean the gutters whereas they are making money while they are in prison. #fixthecountry
#fixmotherghana”.
