As far as Nigerian musicians go, Tiwa Savage is the talk of the town at the moment, but there is no denying the buzz around the new soulful songstress Tems is shaking barriers.
About Tems
26-year-old Temilade Openiyi, commonly known to the world as Tems. She began her singing career at the age of 2018 and with the right talent and people she’s becoming a household name. Not only is she a Nigerian singer who laid
outstanding vocals on Wizkid’s Essence song, but she is also a songwriter and record producer.
Tems Acolades
After recording as the lead chorus vocalist on Wizkid’s chartbuster ‘ESSENCE’ she swiftly got accolades for being acknowledged for recording with pop singer Justin Bieber, seeing that he later became a vital feature on the same song.
The doorway molded for Terms was broader than any could imagine. In the midst of all the recent prominence, she has added another trophy to her Curriculum Vitae after featuring on a song by the one and only Champagne Papi, Canadian rapper and singer Mr, Aubrey Drake Graham, whom we all happen to know as Drake.
Drake & Tems Didn’t Aim For The Pop Charts
There is no lie the song Fountains is not a hit for the clubs the exclude rare groove and slow jams. In fact, it is best described as an album filler that is plausible when passing time.
The captivating video was published yesterday on social media platforms with outstanding contrast and focus on urban Nigeria. As many know, Drake has had a long-standing relationship with various Nigerian artists both in Nigeria and UK, so it wasn’t surprising to see the popular musicians take it to urban Lagos reminiscent of his acts with Jamaica with his hit single ‘Find Your Love’.
There is much less to expect from the popularity of ‘Fountains’ in comparison to ‘Find Your Love’ but the grovy song, merged with a hit urban video is definitely something to tune into.
