On Sunday 6th February, Movie star, Idris Elba, joined one of the revered traditions of Ghana’s Ashanti Kingdom, called the “Akwasidae Festival”. The Akwasidae Festival is celebrated by the Ashanti people and chiefs in Ashanti as well as the Ashanti Diaspora. The festival is celebrated on a Sunday, once every six weeks. Idris was at the Manhyia Palace to witness culture at its best and experience the splendor of Akwasidae in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.
