And believe it or not, majority of Ghanaian men prefer their women without weaves. What is now even trending more is the androgynous hairstyle which 4 or 5 years ago and before will only be seen worn by men in Ghana. Now it is very popular amongst Ghanaian women and there are two types. Both having short sides with more at the top, but the first has a line striking at the top to the side, and the other has a line on either the left or right of the cut. There are a number of reasons why this look is becoming much more popular in Ghana and that is… 1/ Ghanaian men appreciate it much more. 2/ There is a high number of Ghanaian celebrities and inspiring figures that tend to go viral with such hairstyles, making it easier for younger girl to maintain pride in the look. 3/ Schools tend to ban weaves from girls until they are finished with Secondary education, giving them enough time to obtain pride in their natural look before stepping into the real world.
