There is no denying that ever since the mid-2010s, the world of black models has been dominated by South Sudanese. This domination seems to be synonymous with the growth of Instagram and the phenomenon and appreciation of dark-skinned beauty.
So it’s not surprising that Sudan, which happens to host some of the darkest skinned ladies will see a soar in the numbers of models heading into the mainstream sector, after all, business is business and if they are what’s selling, then so be it.
This leads us to our latest model crush, a young stunning South Sudanese beauty by the name Arual Cyer Mayar. A fabulous dark-skinned model who was only discovered a year ago in Uganda, Kampala by Crystal Model Africa.
She has a bright future ahead of her and is already signed to various international agencies including Brave Model Management in Italy, as well as Milk Model Management in South Africa. She is proof that models are not just beautiful but also brains and shares very optimistic views about her dark skin.
In a journal published on HotInJuba.com the young girl stated in her own words….“I’m proud of who I am, and I will never bleach my skin because it’s the true definition of my African identity. To my fellow African girls, don’t bleach your skin, instead, be proud of it and show it to the world that you’re a black woman with power who will never turn to bleach. The dark skin symbolizes power and love, it is unmatched. Black is peace, it is power, love, compassion, and a living spirit. I’m a black girl with the true meaning of African identity. My mother inherited it from me and I will carry it on to my next children. Let’s love ourselves and give our skin color peace. I love being black and will forever be grateful.”
We wish this stunner a successful future and hopefully the pressures of being a top model won’t alter her beautiful outlook on life. See her fabulous portfolio below.
