USA based Ghanaian brand Aya Morrison just presented its lookbook for their SS22 collection. Aya Morrison who started off in the early 2000s as a prominent swimwear fashion brand in Ghana and made a name for itself during the thrust of African print later relocated to the USA where it sooner expanded on its brand.
Aya Morrison’s last exhibition was executed in Accra, was during 2014 where they exhibited their swimwear collection during the Glitz Africa Fashion Week as recorded by FashionGHANA.com below.
Pieces from the collection featured Adire prints which are currently popular amongst various contemporary African fashion brands. Adire textile is the indigo-dyed cloth made across West Africa, particularly Ghana & Nigeria, using a variety of resist-dyeing techniques.
Aya Morrison’s latest collection speaks to the office spacewoman thronged with inspiration. A mix of baggy clothes adjustable to ladies of all shapes and sizes.
The lookbook was shot by renowned photographer Lightville photographer and featured models Brodie-Mends Ewuradjowa Mianu and the current Miss Universe Ghana Engracia Afua K. Mofuman. See all pieaced below.
